By car

Please note that there is very limited parking!

There are two disabled parking bays outside the Institute and limited 2 hour parking in Polstead Road and St Margaret's Road. Resident permit restrictions on certain parking bays end at 18.30.

If coming from out of town it is best to use the Pear Tree Park and Ride service on the north side of the city and catch the #300 bus which goes into town along the Woodstock Road. Get off at the Canterbury Road stop (ask the driver). Cross the main road and walk back up the Woodstock Road crossing Farndon Road and St Margaret's Road. Finally turn left into Polstead Road. St Margaret's Institute is on the right at the bottom of Polstead Road.

This journey can take 30 minutes from the Park and Ride so leave plenty of time.

By Bus

From the railway station you can catch a variety of buses (S3, S1 Gold, 14A) to the city centre  - or walk in 11 minutes.

From the centre (Magdalen Street) take bus #6 up Woodstock Road.   Get off at the St Margaret's Road stop (ask the driver), continue up Woodstock Road, following the bus, to Polstead Road. Turn left into Polstead Road. St Margaret's Institute is on the right at the bottom of Polstead Road. This journey takes about 10 minutes from Magdalen Street.
