BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP

     

 

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES.

The aim of The Friends of SMI is to maintain and develop the community

centre and activities occurring within it, and to input into the development of its on-going strategy.

 

Its main objectives are to build up a group of people who may:

.    Enjoy the benefits of joining in a valued community venture.

·        Use, and encourage others to use the centre.

·        Help run individual events.

·        Participate in activities that are run within the centre.

·        Publicise the community centre.

·        Helping at community events, decorating the Hall, making cakes, puddings etc.

·        Give practical help, joining occasional working parties (eg for garden maintenance or painting), and delivering Leaflets, etc.

·        Help in raising money when specific or general fund-raising is needed.

·        Feed ideas and suggestions to the SMI Management Committee, which operates subject to its Terms of Reference.

·        Provide a pool of people who might join the Management Committee in the event of vacancies.
